Rosabelli Coelho-Keyssar is the Managing Director of the MIT-Brazil Program, one of 20+ country programs at MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI). She is responsible for developing projects connecting MIT students and faculty with corporate partners, academic institutions, foundations, government offices, and non-profit organizations in Brazil. She oversees the entire internship process of recruiting, placing, and preparing MIT students for work in Brazil and she also manages the MIT-Brazil Seed Fund Program, which promotes collaboration between MIT faculty and Brazil's top researchers.
Rosa's academic and professional paths demonstrate a commitment to improved cities, community development, and international education. Before joining MIT, she worked at a low income housing finance non-profit based in Boston that focuses on the Global South. Prior to moving to the US, she gained hands-on experience in higher education administration and in community planning and development as an architect working in the Secretária Municipal de Habitação e Urbanismo in Petrolina, Pernambuco, Brazil. Rosa holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government where she was a Jorge Paulo Lemann Fellow (Lemann Fellow 2007), a Master's degree in Urbanism from PUC-Campinas, and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Universidad Federal de Pernambuco. |
